Privacy Policy

1. Personal information is collected only for the purposes connected with the function of the work of the Kaitangata and Districts Promotions Inc. and all, established sub committees, and only when necessary to have this information. (1.3).

2. Information is collected directly from the person concerned unless publicly available elsewhere or where the individual interests are not prejudiced when collected elsewhere. (2)

3. The manner of collecting information is not unnecessarily intrusive (4).

4. Reasonable safeguards are in place to protect information from loss, unauthorized access or use of disclosure. Private information about any person is not to be disclosed to a 3rd party without the individual’s written consent and knowledge (5).

5. The Kaitangata and Districts Promotions Inc will take all reasonable steps to ensure private information is accurate, relevant and consistently comprehensible (8)

6. Individuals have a right to access their private information and may request correction of that private information if the original is found to be incorrect or has changed in the interim. (6.7)

7. Private information is only used for the purposes for which it was obtained except in certain circumstances (e.g. statistical purposes when the person’s identity is not disclosed).(10)

8. Private information is kept only for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was obtained. (9)

9. Information is passed to others without the person’s consent only when that information is already publicly available, or when it is being passed in connection with a purpose for which it was obtained (11).

10. Policies will be reviewed annually.
